At the top of the canvas you can either turn off Rhino or Grasshopper
rebuild events, which would prevent the solution from being rebuilt
anything something changed or you could turn the preview off or to
wireframe.  It sounds like you'd want to turn off rebuilding with
events.  This means you have to be careful with how your working
because errors could pop up simply because the solution has not been
rebuilt and errors from the previous solution are still there.
