Dear Sachidanandan,
What worries me these days is not the growth of Hindutva forces. I am more
worried about the responses of our own friends. In Kerala for example, many
of my friends equate religion to communalism. This is certainly a dangerous
tradition. What we are going through is a narrow, mechanical
interpretations on fascism. And I know many people who are more secular
within their own religions, more than my own secular friends.
