Hello, everyone! I went home for two weeks, which is why I seemed to have stopped responding in the list...

Father Peron, you said you would be willing to install the wiki on your server. I think this is the best idea, especially since you are already hosting gabc.romanliturgy.org, which everyone here probably already uses from time to time.

Here is the link to the gitit wiki site:
http://gitit.net/

Here is the link to the features listing of dokuwiki:
https://www.dokuwiki.org/features

Father, I would like it if you would review the two wiki's and choose the one you like best to install on your server (since you are willing to host it).

If you are willing, I would like to be an administrator on the wiki.

God bless!
- Brother Gabriel-Marie

Excuse me : I've just seen I had forgotten to reply to the whole list : only Br. Gabriel-Marie received my reply. I suggested using gitit <http://gitit.net> : - it is backed by vcs (git, mercurial or darcs), so it can "easily" (once installed !) be downloaded, modified offline, uploaded ;
- it uses pandoc, so it can be exported to many formats.

If I can help install it on a server, I'll be glad to.

Fr. Jacques Peron.

    Hi all

I have total control on the server
    gabc.romanliturgy.org <http://gabc.romanliturgy.org>
is. Apache is available with php and MySQL. If we host
Dokuwiki or Whatverpedia on it, there will be no ads
    at all.

You are most welcome. The mainwebsite
    www.romanliturgy.org <http://www.romanliturgy.org> is
already running for more than 10 years, as far as I
    can remember, without major problems.

Oliver, thanks for looking at that. I sort of
    thought the same thing.

What about Father Peron's solution of Gitit? I like
the idea of being able to download it, too. And I see
an option for source code highlighting.

I took a look at that - it resembles Wikipedia and I
    don't see any ads there.

Mr. Macks has offered to host it if there is enough
    interest.

Well... I opened it because it was fast and ready to be used. But

    Oliver,

    Well, that was sure fast.

I suppose we'll use it therefore! Let's get started!

Oliver, does it run on your own server?

    God bless!

This mailing list is very useful for new problems, but I think it would
be helpful if we could all collaboratively create a wiki of useful code
    snippets and help items.

    I have used Dokuwiki before
    https://www.dokuwiki.org/dokuwiki

It is very versatile, and doesn't require any database. It runs on php
    on any kind of server.
Is there anybody here who could host it (or something similar)?

    Just an idea, anyway.
