Can you upload an example which shows your problem? I'm not 100% clear
on what it is which you're seeing that you don't like.
Abstractly, I can tell you that the height of the box containing the
second annotation is controlled by the contents of the box and that the
two annotations are separated by the distance
\greaboveinitialseparation. However, without some better idea of what
you see (and what you want) I'm at a loss for suggesting a solution.
