Conor, Sure - I figured we had gotten far enough that
everyone knew what was going on, and the devs were getting
into the finer details. That's all.

I have to say, I am not a developer, but I have very much appreciated
this discussion, as a user. It seems to me that this is a discussion
worth having in front of the whole group. Maybe I just need to
subscribe to the dev group, but this seems fundamentally different, in
that it affects the way Gregorio is approached, rather than being a
particular fix or development here or there.

Say, uh, isn't there a special mailing list for gregorio dev?
Maybe all the git talk should be moved to the other mailing list?
Mailing lists
Three mailing lists are available:
[email protected], the users' list. This is the good one to ask your
questions about gregorio usage and to get help. There is also a searchable
archive of past discussions on this list.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with the process of automatic tests to
provide meaningful feedback. For me testing involves compiling a test score
(sometimes more than one) that examines the issue I'm interested in, looking
at the results, and deciding whether they look like their supposed to.
That's part of the reason why I miss so many things. I often forget about
certain use cases when creating my test scores.
Another thing you might want to look at is completetest.gabc in the examples
folder. This document, if I understand it correctly, is supposed to test
just about every possible combination of gabc syntax, or at least it did
when it was created. It's probably also a good place to start pulling tests
from (you might want to break it up so that it's easier to tell where the
failure is, rather than trying to do everything at once).
