The error I get in the command prompt when I type |gregorio PopulusSion.gabc is: I was unexpected at this time
When I typed in only gregorio PopulusSion.gabc, without |, the error is: 'gregorio' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. As for the manual installation of the dts, which could in fact not have worked because of the errors above, I followed instructions I found on the internet; I am a novice in TeX. I have been working with MikTeX for some months (for my thesis) and had to uninstall it in order to install LiveTex, following the instructions on the Gregorio website. The result was that gregorio installed fine and worked, but all my other TeX files, including my thesis, would no longer compile! So I have uninstalled LiveTex, and re-installed MikTeX. All of my original files are working now, and this is my last attempt at getting gregorio to work. The manual installation of the gregorio TDS was not very difficult, following the instructions I found on the internet. I created a folder in my root directory, which I arbitrarily named localtexmf. According to the instructions I was following, this new folder can be anywhere on your computer outside of the MikTeX program folder. I unzipped the gregorio TDS and copied the files as they appeared into this folder. Next I opened up the MikTeX settings admin GUI, and under the "roots" tab, I added the path to the " localtexmf" folder that contains the gregorio files. Then under the "general" tab, I clicked "Refresh FNDB". The last step, as per the instructions, was to install, as per the usual Windows method, all the true type fonts found in the new TDS. I hope we can find a solution to this problem and get gregorio working on MikTeX as well. Many thanks.
