The error I get in the command prompt when I type |gregorio
PopulusSion.gabc is:
I was unexpected at this time
The pipe character "|" is not part of the command, and thus it's not
surprising that you got an error. It would appear that the formatting I
applied to the email to make things look nice is getting garbled by the
list server. I'll switch things back to plain text to avoid further
confusion.
When I typed in only gregorio PopulusSion.gabc, without |, the error is:
'gregorio' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
This, then, is what is causing your problem. You need to either put
`gregorio.exe` in a place which is already in your path, or add the
folder where it is currently located to your path.
To do the first, open the command prompt and type `echo %Path%` to see
which directories are already there. Then copy `gregorio.exe` to one of
those directories. Ideally, one of those directories should be clearly
associated with MiKTeX, in which case you should pick that one (this is
what the installer does for TeXLive).
To do the second, follow [the instructions
here](http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000549.htm).
Note: When editing the path variable via these instructions, it is often
useful to copy and paste the contents of the variable into NotePad, do
the edits there, and then copy and paste it back into the dialog. The
dialog window has a very small text box and the complete path variable
can get to be quite long making it difficult to edit within the dialog.
