Mea culpa, I have manually deleted (with Cmd-Suppr) all the "double

said to me? Perhaps I have misunderstood.
That is what I said, but it looks like some 2016 files got swept up in
the deletion process. It could have happened accidentally.
When you say "TexLive package", you want to say "Gregorio package installed on
TexLive", don't you? Because, if I correctly understand, TexLive is installation of TeX on a
Unix system? (Sorry if use approximate words.)
Yes "TeXLive package", in this context, is referring to the gregoriotex
package which is included in TeXLive. Further, MacTeX is TeXLive, just
with a nice installation interface for Mac (and some Mac specific GUIs
bundled in as well). When I refer to TeXLive, I'm being platform
agnostic so that other people on other platforms can follow what's going
on (and perhaps find it useful when browsing the list archives).
Looking at the new system-setup.log I note that you have one copy of
each of the tex files with the lualatex files coming from 4.1.2 while
most of the other files are coming up 4.2.0. This won't work. You
should have two copies of each file, one from 4.1.2 and the other from
4.2.0. I'm not sure why this is happening, so I'm going to try stepping
you through some specific processes one at a time so that I can try and
identify the problem.
The first step is to copy the system-setup.command script to somewhere
where you'll be able to keep it. We're going to use this script to
verify each step of the process as we first delete and then install the
various components.
Once you've got that script somewhere safe do the following three things:
1) Download and run Uninstall-Gregorio_4_2_0.pkg (found here:
https://github.com/gregorio-project/gregorio/releases/tag/v4.2.0).
2) Open TeXLive Utility and Uninstall the gregoriotex package.
3) Delete /Users/Shared/Gregorio
These steps should eliminate all presence of Gregorio on your system.
Once you've done this, run system-setup.command and post the results so
that I can verify the results. If it looks as I think it should, I'll
give you the next step.
