If your troff documents are only using the base pdf fonts which don't need to 
be embedded 
within the pdf, since the fonts are supplied by the viewer instead. When the 
groff man 
pages are created as a volume Branden has included the -P-e flag which tells 
gropdf to 
embed all fonts regardless, and since the grops and gropdf man pages have 
examples of all 
fonts they all need to be specified correctly in the download file for it to 
succeed.
