I was reminded that the data field already exists and some people may be using it. Putting a human readable string into it should be fine. If someone puts something else, then the result is just Jibberish, but not harmful. OTOH, TLVs could get tricky. If we want to use TLVs, another NOTIFICATION sub code might be wise.
