I will first give you the background information, then the technical information.
I have an empty "smoke" notification window --no icons or text within-- that measures appx. 500px by 300px. It won't go away. It's larger width-wise than any Growl notification I get normally. It's been in the top right corner of my screen for the past 3 days. Other Growl notifications still work, just underneath (or maybe on top). Expose features still work, and the Growl window goes to the side of the screen when I hit F11 and disappears when I hit F9 or F10. I have uninstalled Growl and it did not solve the problem. I have restarted multiple times and the window goes away, but comes back as soon as the Finder toolbar at the top of the screen becomes visible-- even with Growl uninstalled. The only app I have added recently is PeerGuardian, and this problem occurred several days afterward. PeerGuardian had produced numerous notifications up to that point without any problems. This Growl window does not block me from clicking or typing anything underneath it... it just decreases visibility. The Growl window is there with no programs running, just Finder. Even Dashboard is disabled. TECH INFO: Mac OS 10.4.11 iBook G4 1.2GHz 768Mb RAM Growl Ver. 1.1.4 PeerGuardian 1.5.1 If you need any more info, please ask!
