So some applications work, and some do not. The ones that do not are
affected by one of two things, and both things are resolved on the end of
the application, not on Growl's end. I can't walk into Skype's office and
fix it, or I would.

So we're working on a way that end users, i.e. you, can click a button to
make it work. It's going to be at least another week before that is done.
However, it's not the long term fix. Every version of the software that the
application vendors put out will need to have this workaround redone. There
isn't much we can really do about that, it's just how it is going to be.

So while I agree on some levels, I don't think you understand the full
problem. We're quite aware of what the issues are, and what the onus is on
us here. We're working to make things better, just give us a bit more time
to make sure that we can test what we're working on. I'd hate to put out the
updated Growl Version Detective with issues, and would prefer to test things
properly. Once the updated Growl Version Detective is done, that still needs
to wait for the final 1.3 SDK, which will be hitting a hopefully final beta
tonight or tomorrow.

We have plans to address the problem, and it's not affecting everyone just
some people running some combination of applications.
