Skype should work with the updated framework inside it (i have it working).
make sure you have enabled the growl option in Skype preferences (events tab)?

Not sure about Carbon Copy Cloner. It'd be work contacting the developers and 
seeing if they know about it/would be willing to fix it.
in fact, it's worth encouraging the Skype devs to do the same (there's a 
feedback box in the Skype menu) if you have the time.
