I have the same problem and can't follow this advice. Growl shows on my Purchases tab but with a "INSTALLED" link and there's no obvious way to reactivate that link.
Actually, the reason I uninstalled Growl was that when I bought it from the App Store (November 3d) it seems in hindsight to have just reinstalled the 1.2.2 version instead of installing the 2.0. I didn't discover it right away but when the Growl-update reminders kept showing on my screen I finally checked and found out that on the day of purchase, my download folder received Growl-1.2.2.dmg and there is no sign of a 2.0 version. So today I uninstalled 1.2.2 once more, and now there seems to be no way to install the 2.0 purchase. I may not remember the details right because ten days have passed since I went through the update process. Wouldn't it make sense to look for the 2.0 in the downloads folder, or am I perhaps getting this completely wrong?
