I'm sorry, but his first point is about crash logs. We have not seen a single crash log from Mike. So if he was running into crashers, and we aren't getting them from him, that's my biggest concern. Obviously we want to address that first, over anything else.
The UDP protocol growltalk was never, ever, guaranteed to be running. It's not a dependable protocol to use, it never was, and quite frankly it never worked right even for me. Mike's app is not a consumer of GNTP though except via virtue of using the framework. This was not the concern he was bringing up, and without further explanation from him we can't know for sure what his concern really is. Sandboxing is something that Growl really needed to do, since it interacts with so many applications. Not implementing Sandboxing would really have been irresponsible of us. However, nowhere in his post does he mention: - GrowlTalk. - GNTP - Sandboxing I'm however concerned about why you switched versus using the framework that includes NC support. If you could expand on that I'd appreciate it. -- Chris Forsythe @The_Tick (http://twitter.com/The_Tick) On Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 1:02 PM, Josh Wright wrote: > Not wanting to start anything here, but most of Mike's concerns have been > raised on here by many other developers - especially those around Sandboxing > and the terrible issues around breaking compatibility with earlier versions > of Growl.
