Are you seeing this in any other apps or just spotify? Is there anything getting logged to the console from either Growl or Spotify? Did you get e a large number of notifications at launch from like an IRC backlog?
I have not heard of this issue before, so just trying to narrow down what it might be (also, spotify version was cut off, but guessing latest?)
