To elaborate a bit further, there are a number of styles that do this, for one example, voxgrowl here: http://sparanoid.com/work/slimbox-and-voxgrowl/, and you can look through the styles list at http://growl.info/styles
However, if you are talking about an app you develop, there isn't presently a way for an application to request a particular style when it sends a notification, and while it has been requested and discussed before, we have not decided whether to implement anything along those lines yet. Even if we did, applications would likely only be able to suggest a style, because we value user choice for notification styling.
