Firefox pulled direct support for Growl between the last release and now. There are a few different add-ons for Firefox that you can find that support Growl.
Outlook I had working through a script provided by Matt Gemmell - http://mattgemmell.com/2010/11/03/using-growl-with-microsoft-outlook-2011-mac/ Microsoft isn't going to support Growl directly. I was probably testing something out with yummy a long time ago, I haven't tried it in a while.
