Well, if they read the bug-reporting HOWTO, they'll do it properly, no?.
I'm reluctant to add a -g by default. Not all C compilers support both
-g and optimization. We'd have to special-case (again!) for gcc.


Suggestion:
-g3 only when they are not building an official release.
-O when it is an official release (stable) build

Or doesn't this make sense at all?
