Hi,
on FreeBSD GtkG's Configure script does not find the files required for NLS. The script "findhdr" only searches for include files in /usr/include instead of also in /usr/local/include. libintl.h resides in /usr/local/include (as it is not part of the FreeBSD base system), so the Configure script thinks NLS is not available.
Greetings, Thomas.
While we are on the topic of Configure and FreeBSD. The last time I compiled I noticed that 'nm' was not able to extract symbols from libz on my system so gtkg wasn't compiled with compression support. If I use Configure and test for working libraries by compiling a short program against them instead of using nm, everything works fine. Don't know if this is a bug with gtkg's Configure/nm/FreeBSD but perhaps the default should be to not use nm in the Configure script?
Cheers, Russ
Hi Russ,
As long as it's only the HEAD branch you're noticing this with, it's already been filed in the tracker. See the link for a better explanation of the problem.
