Hi,

first: GTKG really is a very nice piece of software ;-)
However, there is one thing I find quite annoying:
Is it really necessary to make GTKG beep every once in a while whenever an 
"old version" is detected ?

Personally I don't like being forced to update a stable version just to get 
rid of the beep (I needed half a day to figure out its source since GTKG runs 
on a remote machine)...

I would think that the message in the status line actually *does* suffice...
