That could more be a problem. You talk about clients still hitting the host 
although there is no server anymore? I think I have a hostname which I can at 
least remove for some time.

AFAIK Ghostwhirecrab produces logfiles in the Apache combined format. So I can 
use tools like awstasts to analyse the logs? Is there any special setup for 
awstats around?

I'll probably set it up today and then you can test it.
