256 descriptors should be fine even for ultrapeers. If you're downloading or uploading you might need additional descriptors completely depending on how much sources are active at any time. > I ran for a while at 512, but the icon kept flashing that I was at my limit, > and I was getting error messages in the console that files couldn't be > written. This wasn't a problem for any previous version, how has the usage > of file descripters changed in the most recent code?. I'm not aware of any increase in the amount of file descriptors used. You could check with lsof whether there are any files open which are not currently uploaded or downloaded. > I'm also getting seg faults preceded by messages about recursion, but I > havn't had time to debug these cores. How old are your sources? These crashes are supposed to be fixed for a few weeks. Actually these warnings are suppressed now unless debugging. -- Christian ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
