!!! Sorry for the hassle. I sort of assumed it was very obvious to everyone else and you were waiting for me to figure it out. I should have followed up on it. As best I can figure, the problem was caused by a hackneyed attempt to use dmesh_fill_alternate() with, um, an uninitialized gnet_host_t pointer as the 'vector', which as far as I can tell means 'pointer to the array that gets filled in'. I would have identified this as a mistake if I had caught it, but I didn't. My guess is that this corrupted nearby memory structures for 'fi' and 'd', causing the last- minute magic number check for whichever was checked first to fail. Make any sense? I have no idea. I guess there was no time for more catastrophic (and more obviously memory-related) consequences, as the program froze right then. On another note, I just noticed a warning that I'd never seen before: > WARNING: Assertion failure in udp.c:75: "n" Which is cryptic enough that I thought I'd mention it. Also appearing in recent times (as the most frequent) are disturbing messages such as: > 07-09-10 18:25:48 (MESSAGE): Removing 66.160.158.194:15066 > <LimeWire/4.12.8> due to security violation > 07-09-10 18:27:28 (MESSAGE): Removing 65.19.143.3:63833 <LimeWire/ > 4.12.8> due to security violation (The final byte of the IP and the port number change every time; the domains seem otherwise fairly fixed, though), and the not-very-informative but most frequent: > 07-09-10 18:24:00 (WARNING): getpeername() failed: Unknown error: 0 - Matt ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
