You're right & Harleys are probably the worst, but a lot of bikes fall in
this category. I bought my GTS last year with 3600 miles on it - six years
old. Guy traded a 2 year old FZR on it, according to the paperwork. Why
spend $10k+ on a bike you're only going to ride 600 miles a year? I've seen
several gold wings averaging under 1K a year. Two of the guys I reide with
have new wings, one with 730 miles, one with 14,000 miles - both new this
summer.
Hooters has bike night around here. typically get 125-150 bikes, almost all
Harleys. The crowd is mostly fat 40 year olds in black dennin & leather.
The BIKE is supposed to make them tough 20 year olds. Asking a lot out of a
bike.
my cynical $.02 worth
