Normal. I'm 5'9" and had the same problem. I bought a Lockhart smoked
screen and cut a few inches off of it so that the air flow hits just
below the helmet lip. It works great for me, but I still wear plugs. No
matter what you ride, bikes produce a lot of db's of noise. Wind,
engine, passeng...er, a, will, you know.
