I can confirm that adding

  (properties `((python2-variant . ,(delay python2-prompt-toolkit))))

and 

  (properties `((python2-variant . ,(delay python2-wcwidth))))

, respectively, makes python2-prompt-toolkit work for Python 2 as well.
