INSIDE_EMACS fixes the terminals that render OSC character incorrectly. It appears in Emacs because there is a bug -- should be fixed in the next release, not sure. The other terminal deal correctly with this special character; except if they are configured the bad way as 'terminal-mate' on Trisquel [1].
