With a retrospective of Italian actor, late Vittorio Gassman, and award-winning films Pater Familias, Secret File, The Heart is Everywhere, gracing it, the film festival will kick off on November 27 in Goa.
Putting to rest doubts about Goa being the permanent destination for IFFI, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and I&B Minister S. Jaipal Reddy agreed that the state had prepared itself beyond all doubts. And with government spending nearly Rs 57 crore on infrastructure and multiplexes, all doubts had been laid to rest. As part of the facelift, the Old Goa Medical complex has been overhauled and four multiplexes replete with ultra-modern facilities are nearing completion. The promenade along the entire stretch is being done up. The big entries at the fest this year are Paula Vanderoest�s Moonlight from Netherlands, Lost in Translation by Sophia Coppola, animation film Incredibles from Hollywood, official entry to the Oscars from South Africa, Yesterday by Darrel Rooth, Summer in the Golden Valley from Bosnia and two films on World AIDS Day on December 1 will be showcased. Also, a special section on Yash Johar will be inaugurated by Amitabh Bachchan and Karan Johar, will be part of the film festival, along with the Panorama section. While the CII and FICCI will chip in with the film bazaar; special seminars with focus on film producer Ashok Amritraj will be other significant events of the festival. Besides, Indian Airlines is offering 20 per cent discount on air fares to Goa. Jamir praises CM � PANAJI: In a royal snub to the Congress, Goa Governor S.C.
