Blessed Joseph Vaz novena to begin from Janaury 7

CORTALIM, JAN 2, 2005 � The feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz will be celebrated at Sancoale on January 16 at Sancoale Sanctuary. Masses in the morning on the feast day will be at 5, 6, 7, 8 and in the evening at 4 pm and 5.30 pm (special mass for working people.
The concelebrated mass will be at 10 am where Archbishop Emeritus Raul N Gonsalves will be the main celebrant. Homily will be preached by Rector/Vice-Postulator Fr Eremito M Rebelo and will be followed by a procession and mass at the Oratory of Blessed Joseph Vaz, Sancoale at 12 noon.
The novenas will begin on January 7. Masses during the novena will be at 6.30 am, 8.30 am and 5 pm. On January 9 (Sunday) mass will be at 6.30 am, 7.30 am and 9 am � (special mass for the sick) and 5 pm. The sick have been requested to remain present at 8.30 am.
A retreat will be conducted on January 13 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. This is special day dedicated to Mother Mary to whom Blessed Joseph Vaz was a staunch devotee. A night vigil will also be conducted on January 14 from 10 pm to 5.30 am to pray for the much needed Miracle only through the intercession of Blessed Joseph Vaz. (The day will be a day of prayer and fasting).
The exhibitions of paintings on the life and miracles of Blessed Joseph Vaz which was on display at Old Goa for the Expostion of Relics of St Francis Xavier will be displayed with two more paintings during the novena and feast (January 7 to 16) from 7 am to 7 pm at the Sanctuary�s museum, Sancoale.
Blessed Joseph Vaz who is the patron of Archdiocese of Goa and Daman and the Apostle of Kanara and Sri Lanka needs another Miracle to be proclaimed Saint.
