Pune, March 2, 2005 : Guess who was seen at the launch party of a real estate venture in Delhi? Singer Hema Sardesai, still best known for the song Awara bhawre in the Kajol-Arvind Swami starrer Sapnay. Sardesai let us in on the news that she will soon be donning a film director�s cap. ��Everything is in the initial stages and I will not be able to disclose details,�� added the lady who was there for a performance. 
Sardesai has just released an album of Konkani songs titled Goa Zaai. 








Considering the attention she drew right at the start of her Bollywood career, how come she�s not a regular on the circuit? ��I would have achieved greater fame, had I not stuck to my principles,�� she replies. Huh? ��I will never sing a Choli ke peeche. I have refused several songs, because I was unwilling to compromise.�� 
Sardesai�s ��principles�� seem to have also turned her against old classics that have been remixed and reintroduced to the public through raunchy videos in recent years. 
She recalls an incident when she was asked to sing a Kaanta laga remix at a show and she refused. The audience said, ��We�d rather have you than the song. That was a glorious moment,�� she says.
