| Mumbai: Konkani Bhasha Mandal Celebrates 13th Konkani Recognition Day |

Report and pics from Ancy Paladka, Mumbai Mumbai, Sep 27: Premier Konkani body Mumbai Konkani Bhasha Mandal celebrated 13th Konkani recognition recently at Zaverbhai Patel Auditorium, of Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai. Gurudas Musurkar was the chief guest of the programme. M L T Fernandes and John S. Rebello were guests of honour. Past president S V Pikale and president P. N. Shanbaug wre also present. Konkani poets J B Moraes, J B Sequiera, Ancy Paladka, Sheela Kolambkar, Sudhir Kodkani, Jayamala Danaiti, Ron Maikal Vas and Philomena San Francisco participated in the poetry session. An entertainment programme was arranged by Mangalorean and Goan artistes led by Leo Fernandes. Konkani dances were presented by the troupe of Fr. Charles Vas SVD of Konkan Daiz Yatra fame. Singer-composer Jerry D'Souza and his troupe entertained the gathering with their songs. Star attraction was the Goan artiste Kenny Zuzarte. Prizes were distributed to children who topped in the Talent Competition and in their academic examinations. Prize-winners are Felita Veigas, Glen Veigas, Calista D'Souza in sub juniors singing solo, Clinton D'Cunha, Shweta Mathias, Virginia Dantas in juniors singing solo, Lovelyn D'Souza, Velita Concesso, Jenecia D'Souza in seniors singing solo, Felita Veigas, Criston Mascarenhas, Glen Veigas inn sub juniors, Elocution and Nilifa D'Silva, Franklin Veigas, Jennifer D'Souza in Juniors Elocution.
The following were felicitated for their excellence in the academic results.
