Some historical knowledge was retained, which explains why the standard long range vessel was named after an Interstellar Wars era cruiser class. The schooner has two masts with bermuda and jib sails. Her sleek hull is heavily reinforced to weather storms far from home and copper-plated to reduce fouling. She has room for about 25 crew, 75 passengers and 40 displacement tons of cargo. The schooner has no engines, but a battery powers a few electric lights, tools and instruments. She has gun ports for a few small muzzleloaders, but usually no weapons are carried. The listed payload includes two pinnaces, 200 stons of cargo, and 36 stons of provisions. Armor is standard wood, covered by DR 1 expensive metal on body F, R, L, B, U. Waterproofed. Primitive controls. 450.271 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 500,000 lbs. The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi (rig and sailing performance) and VXii (armor volume) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller background affects the design decisions, not the technology.
