I am not a big fan of git, but some people really love it. Anyway, i
agree with Jorge: i see it almost impossible to make OSOR feature git
in the short term

Git is not a problem in windows, I use it and it works quite ok. There
is no eclipse integration (AFAIK) and there is a (terribly bad) GUI,
but then there is git bash, which works fine.
