Hi all,

I have two problems with recording that I wanted to bring up the list to see if
anyone else is having problems.

First, since the 2.0 update, my line-in recordings are very distorted, as if I
had selected Microphone instead of line-in for my recording source. I am
recording directly for my other device's line-out jack. I can get acceptable
results if I connect to my audio device's headphone jack instead and adjust the
levels, but I had no problem in the 1.1 firmware with line-in recordings.

To rule out a hardware problem, I reinstalled the 1.1 firmware, and the problem
went away. Re-updated to 2.0, and the problem appeared again.

Secondly, ever since I've had my BookSense, if I am recording using the
internal microphone directly to the SD card, I hear a whirring sound during the
recording. This does not occur if I record to the internal hard drive. For the
longest time, I couldn't figure out why the whirring noise was present in some
recordings and not others because I just recorded on whatever source was active
at the time and never even paid attention. But when I actively started
troubleshooting, I discovered that recording on the SD card was the problem. It
has been with multiple cards and does not appear to be specific to any firmware
release.

Any thoughts?

Cheryl
