Greetings again all
I am not up to speed on what is necessary in order to pair a device for use
with a wireless headset, but one of the reasons I bought BookSense was that
it was bluetooth capable.

Here's the dilemma.
I recently bought bluetooth capable hearing aids.
In order to use the bluetooth feature, I also had to buy a cell-phone sized
wireless unit called the Tech, which would pair with multiple bluetooth
devices and let the user switch between the channels. It then transmits the
selected stream to the hearing aids.

The people I bought the Tech from were able to pair the aids with my cell
phone with no trouble, but when I brought out the booksense, the support
technician said the Tech had no way to communicate with it. They didn't
even try, saying that was impossible.

Now really, there is something wrong. The booksense isn't that much
different from a cell phone as far as audio input and output.
Why can't it be paired?
Is there something that can be put into the firmware that would resolve
this?

My question to the techies:
How does the bluetooth software search for devices to pair with?
When it finds one, which device -- the Tech or the booksense, or both, needs
to update its settings?
What is the handshaking process? Is there some reason the frequencies are
different?

Anyway, I'm tired of spending so much time on this, but I do think it should
be easy to do. I wish the people at the hearing aid place were more tech
savvy -- As I said, they wouldn't even try pairing the device.

TIA all and happy reading. Now I need to set my booksense alarm to sound
the coocoo alarm tomorrow morning...*smile*

Oh and that leads me to another question: Can I download "ring tones" for
use by the alarm clock? There are only the 3 in there, all somewhat
annoying, but that's good as it gets me out of bed...
