Over all, I think GW Micro's response was good, the one part I disagree with is saying that including a screen reader in the operating system is a disservice. Apple has built an excellent screen reader in to their operating system, and I would put its features up against the features of the windows screen readers any day. At home, I use the mac for just about everything now, and voiceover makes it accessible in a very good way. As a blind person, why should I have to pay more than sighted people do to use a device? As Serotek says, accessibility is a right, not something we should have to pay extra for. The companies who make the products should have the responsibility of making them accessible. Voiceover works with many applications that are not from Apple. You can't beat having accessibility right out of the box.
