I do suppose speed is a preference thing. I will sometimes speed up
the BookSense to 5, but usually I don't need to listen to it faster
than that. My family already wonders how I can understand it that fast.

Wow, *smile.* This is definitely a preference thing.
I find the booksense plays nls books just fine. Only occasionally
have I sped up the book, and even then, it met my needs.
Are we talking books with human narators? How fast do you like
it? *Grin,* like the chipmunks? *Smile,* I'm only joking.

The answer to all of those is "Yes". I have an XT. My only
problem with it is that the NLS books don't play fast enough. I
recently received a digital player from the National Library
Service, and it plays those books considerably faster. If you're
going to listen to a lot of NLS books, you should consider getting
one of those, or perhaps a Bookport Plus, or a Victor reader stream.
However, the voices for the text to speech application are much
better on the Book Sense. There are some pronunciation glitches
that can be a little annoying at first. However, they are
few. Additionally, the Book Sense plays a lot more kinds of audio
files. I'm glad I bought one, but for now, I'm using the digital
player from NLS for that kind of book. I hope HIMS does something
about increasing the speed for NLS books. It's better to have to
slow your book down then to wish you could listen faster.
Conclusion: Buy a Book Sense XT.

It's a pleasure to meet you all , and I look forward to exchanging
ideas with you and learning from you. My name is Merisa I'm a
booksense user to-be. Whether or not I'll buy it from a dealer or GW
Micro directly. I'll decide tomorrow. I'm leaning more toward buying a
Booksense XT rather than a classic model. Four gigabytes of internal
memory sounds wonderful and FM radio too. I was wondering if any of
you are using Booksense XT and how do you like it? I'm wondering can
booksense play files such as RFBD NLS and stuff from bookshare?
Thank you!

11For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the
Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to

12Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me,

14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you
