Well, I don't know what happened. I chose install with speech and rebooted.
Jaws came up talking and I used it to get the login screen and then shut it
down so I could use wineyes with its own talking install.
Instead of getting an install dialogue I got a sound effect like an error but I
couldn't get jaws back to read the message.
I had to forcibly shut down and when I rebooted jaws talked again.
I don't know if wineyes can be reinstalled without dealing with video drivers
or even reinstalling windows which this computer needs anyway. I'll leave it
for the weekend I think when I've got a pair of eyes to help me. smile

Can you install the beta using jaws. yOu can also try it with nvda.
www.nvda-access.org
That works without a video intercept.

I can't even get to this edit box. I removed the beta and tried to install
6.1 again but I must have messed up video intercept or something because the
installer won't talk. I am using JAWS to type this email now. Oh well, at least
jaws is still working so I am not totally in the dark. smile

It is showing you 10 but it is set to 100. Try going back and typing 100
press the tab key to the accept button or whatever that is called and I think
you will find it shows you 71 scripts there even though it says 10 when you
read it by character. Also, when I read using the tab and shift tab to read it
says 100. Is your screen maximized.

Hi all.
I was trying to login to script central with firefox and just had to
give up. It just won't access the edit box where you type in the number of
scripts per page that you want. Ten is way too low and so I set it to 99.
Right now I can't use either IE or firefox because they both have such
annoying problems. I know the shift tab isn't WE, but what about the need to
constantly turn browse mode on and off? What about the edit fields in firefox
3? WE just doesn't see them in browse mode.
Also firefox doesn't always speak the title bar so I don't always
notice when a new page has loaded.
I am so tired of these two browsers that just won't quite work. I guess
the shift tab is the smallest problem and I'll have to put up with it until
firefox can see edit controls.
Sara
P.S. Should I try a fresh install of WE?
