There are sometimes dialogs from the control panel that will let one change
some settings that make the touchpad less of an issue. For example, my
touchpad had
the feature that tapping it twice generated a left click. When using my laptop
while in a car, I was left clicking all the time. I was able to turn this
feature off and
reduce the sensitivity of the touch pad without actually disabling it which
pretty much solved the problem in my case. Where exactly one finds these
settings
depends upon the maker of the touchpad and can vary. I would start by going
through all the control panel entries, and then check for mouse settings.
