I agree with the next message in this thread. I wouldn't use a computer if I had to listen at human voice speed. i am not interested in the quality of the voice. i can listen at 750 words a minute to previously read matterial and 600 words a minute to new matterial. I take as much pause as I can out of the word stream. Those pauses drive me nuts. i wouldn't use a computer if I had to put up with that crap. I think it makes a difference if you are born blind or become blind which determines what structues and how much the brain uses for sound. I turn punctuation off to decrease those pauses. I also try to shorten common words and acronyms to make things go faster. I don't need to hear http instead the word dab will serve just find www is dub. Now if we could just get that space in the exceptions dictionary it would be even better.
