Hi all,
Actual quote:
"I just had an important thought, ... browse mode / place markers are at
the heart of the problems with freedom ... !"
It's not fair to only quote part of the actual quote.
Isn't the law suit about place markers ... (in browse mode) so my "I just
had an important thought"
So my thoughts are not stating any thing but, my thoughts / opinions about
what I thought the law suit was about..
I ask is this a wild conspiracy?
I don't think so and never suggested such.
I think Aaron mentioned the great conspiracy ... did we go to the moon? ...
Just wondering since we aer now on conspiracies?
What accusations have I made?
I agree! I am on your side and so when people are still mentioning browse
mode ... I tried to give my thoughts on why since before 6.0 this has not
had any focus.
You are saying I am not correct in my thoughts ... I accept that but, let's
not take it way out of what was intended ... let's stick to my expressing my
thoughts.
These are my thoughts and have been expressed as such ... no conspiracies
... no accusations ... just my thoughts.
Sam

And just what do you think my hobby's are?
Among other things, making wild accusations such as, and I quote, "browse
mode / place markers are at the heart of the problems with freedom." That
has absolutely nothing to do with our work on Browse mode. Nothing. It's
provocation at its best and does nothing more than whip people up into a
frenzy over a non-existent issue.
I have said nothing about Don and I certainly didn't tell any one to
shut up!
No, you didn't. I did. And Don, more than anyone, knows I love to give him
a hard time. That statement was tongue in cheek, a point often lost in
these kinds of emails. So lost, in fact, that I'll answer just one more of
your questions, and then if you want to discuss any of this more, we can
chat on the phone. I feel we both have points that are getting lost in
trying to weigh emotions in words (which never works on a listserv such as
this).
If you don't have a bottom line ... you will go out of business!
Second ... then if you don't need to consult the lawyers ... tell us the
status / story of the law suit?
As mentioned above, my point is getting lost in this electronic medium. I
know you're on our side, Sam. I don't doubt that. But it is frustrating to
hear all the supposed theories as to why this didn't make this release, or
that didn't make that release. If you have to call it a bottom line, fine.
The point was that lawyers and the like are not involved in the decisions
of what fixes/features go into what release. I made that point to combat
the provocative theory you postulated about why browse mode wasn't worked
on in 7.1: that somehow it involved the lawsuit that we are involved in.
It's just not true, and I want to put a stop to that rumor before it gets
fanned into wild fire.
And while our lawyers don't make decisions regarding our development
cycles, they do make very good legal directives, such as not to comment on
any details about our lawsuit other than to say it's ongoing.
