Can anyone think of any reasons why step 4 in the following directions
fails in removing the folders in question. The result is a reinstall of
WE7 from the installation disk that is corrupted and won't work beyond
saying the word "Window-Eyes" upon logon. The rest of the pc works
flawlessly. I am at whit's end with this and am at the point of either
abandoning using WE on this PC ever again (one running xp home) or
alternatively reverting to an image from a year and a half ago or so which
I know is clean.

Are there uninstall programs that can handle troubled situations such as
this to remove stuff that won't clean up?

Thanks in advance for any guidance from anyone. Up to this point, which
has been for a decade or so, I have been a happy WE user going back to ver
3.0 or so and am happily running it now on 2 other pcs. But this one
which is a backup pc which, temporarily is my main desktop for travel
reasons, is giving me fits with WE.
