My Asus netbook has the same on-board audio as my Pentium Dual core desktop, Realtek High Definition Audio and supports Window-eyes extremely well. I've run Skype along with Window-eyes both with no problem.

That terminology is rather out of date. Every sound card is
multichannel these days, it is done through drivers rather than
special hardware.

Not that that alone would convince me to buy a netbook. By the time
you connect a keyboard big enough to use, add enough ram to make it
fun to use and buy an external dvd drive, you could get a decent
notebook and have the whole lot in one package.

Hi, all. I'm wondering what kind of sound card netbooks have. I really like the hourly chime script, but if the netbook doesn't have a multi-channel sound card, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to install it, right? Do any of you use the hourly chime script on a net book?
