Only problem with the facebook light site is that you must already be a member to use it, so you still have to get by the caption security thing!

There are fortunately two smaller versions available: http://lite.facebook.com and http://m.facebook.com. The former is geared to PC users who just want the basics while the latter caters specifically to folks accessing the site from a mobile phone.
