Hi Edward, you're just toggling Word between insert and overtype mode. it's a feature of Word's to do this, and I don't think it can be turned off. what you likely changed was the "overtype mode" checkbox in the options dialog, which only controls how Word first starts up, but it doesn't disable you from pressing the insert key.
It might be possible to prevent someone from accidentally changing this to overtype via a script; since I've got a Word script available anyway, I'll see about adding this capability to it, since it's gotten me before as well. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: edward [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 6:18 PM To: [email protected] Subject: really annoying problem hello all, in word when I hit the insert key it states overtype. I turned this feature off in word. Is there something else I need to do? Edward If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
