Hi again Edward, to get the font and other formatting info, press insert plus e to invoke the window eyes command which will open a dialog, with all the formatting info in an editbox for you to use your arrow keys to read. this shows you the formatting info where you are currently positioned, not read aloud as you move through the document.
to stop the auto correcting, and/or auto formatting into lists or outlines that Word does, at least under 2003, you would choose the tools menu, and then the "auto correct options" choice. in here are 2 tabs in this dialog, and the first one (autocorrect) is full of checkboxes that a beginning Word user would probably want unchecked, and the second (auto format as you type) is a multi-select listbox full of options that a beginning Word user would likely want unselected. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: edward [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 4:40 PM To: [email protected] Subject: ms word hello all, two questions: 1. how do I get the font and type of text info in word? 2. I am trying to locate the feature in word that automatically numbers if you start with the number one. For example word will automatically assume that you are trying to outline a document and will place auto numbering for you. I want to turn this feature off since it interferes with win eyes. anyone know where I can find it? thanks Edward If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
