Do you have a link to the AVG forum postings you mentioned?
I'd really like to read up on this. I witnessed the fantom window popup on
a fellow's computer yesterday.
The system is XP with W-E 7.1, IE 8 and AVG Free 9.
I've not heard of or witnessed these fantom windows grabbing focus using the
AVG 9 and IE 8 combo and another screen reader.

After reading the AVG-FREE Message Forum, I have uninstalled AVG-free9.0
making sure that you check the remove user settings choice it gives.
Unfortunately, you then have to reset up your preferred settings after
reinstalling. But, since reinstalling I have not had the phantom Web
Browser
pop up yet. The message forum was not sure whether it would reoccur after
another scan though and I have not done a scan to verify this or not.
