I am having the same problem with the current version. On my XP SP3 pro computer with WE 7.11.
QuickQuit 1.31 works like it should. The only thing that I could see is that the new version speaks a message from the .xml file while the older version just uses the speak command with text in quotes. I don't know why this would have anything to do with the problem though. For now, I recommend going back to 1.31.
