Just did a little test here. I uninstalled WE 7.2 beta 1 and then restarted
my computer 10 times. Absolutely no problems with Windows 7 working great
at every boot.
I then reinstalled WE 7.1 folled by the install of the WE 7.2 beta 1 and
tried the same 10 restarts after WE fully installed itself. Computer crased
3 of the 10 times. As much as I dislike the idea I am probably send this
thing to GW as this problem has been around since my first install of
Windows 7 last October.

Aaron,
I have exactly the same problem under Win7 ultimate 32bit. I had it with WE
7.11 as described in the message below and now in 7.2 it is the same plus
the computer hangs. There is only 1 way to avoid this problem, under 7.11
and under 7.2, at the login screen, wait 1 to 2 minutes before logging on.
When you wait this time then WE works as expected without probs. I have WE
startup at the login screen disabled. With WE enabled at the login screen I
run in the problem in 99% of all OS bootups.

I'm not getting any WE crash or crash report to send to you. All I can offer
is a RDP connection to this PC, running US versions of the OS and WE. BTW,
it is a dual boot PC and under XP WE 7.2 and all earlier versions WE
performs as expected.

regards,
  Ralf

Are you getting any Window-Eyes error reports to send when this happens?

I was having trouble with WE 7.11 crashing on my Windows 7 Home Premium 64

bit machine ever since the release of Windows 7 so I went back to Vista.

I worked with Aaron at GW and he thought maybe just maybe that the 7.2 would

resolve my issue.

Yesterday I did another clean install of Windows 7 64 bit and installed WE

7.2 beta.

Sorry to say it did not resolve my problem.

Without WE running the computer runs great and no problems happen.

However about 50 percent of the time you start WE 7.2 beta the computer

stops working properly. When WE causes the problem none of the desktop

icons will work as well as any entries in the start menu. After a reboot

again WE may cause the same problem or it maybe just maybe works great.

When you look at the Event Viewer for entries logged at the time of WE

causing problems there is a entry with an ID of 243 and a description of

Desktop heap allocation failure. This entry is only logged when WE has the

problem.

Any suggestions?
